Hi, I hope someone can help.

I have 11 dinner plates that I bought that are really beautiful. Each is different and several different techniques are being used on each plate. There is a lot of texture to them too. The artist signed the back of each plate into the clay. I put some baby powder on one of the deeper signatures so you can see it better. Does anyone recognize the artist?

I confess, I just love beautiful pottery. I don't know what the techniques are called. I've photographed 4 of the plates and one is a pretty close view of one of them.

Any information would be really helpful. Also, I'd love to know what the techniques are being used in the glazes. It appears that there are layers of them. Are they fired several times to get that effect?

Anything you can tell me will be helpful. Also, I'd like to buy more from this artist, so if he/she can be identified, that would be awesome.

Thank you!!

I tried the 16th icon and when I do, it comes up blank. These are the locations of the photos. I would really appreciate it if someone can identify this pottery and the techniques used. Thank you!

Beautiful plates, but I'm afraid it's not a signature I'm familiar with. They may be local to you, so worth checking your local galleries and pottery associations to see if they're by one of their artists, or if any of their members recognises the signature.

As for the decoration, it seems to be a combination of carving the glaze away from certain areas, and several layers of glaze. I couldn't tell you if they've been fired more than once.

That's a wonderful suggestion, NaomiM! I'll ask at the galleries nearby. I wish I could read the signature. I have stared at that for the longest time and can't tell what it is.

These plates are great! They are really heavy too. I hope I can find more pieces.

Thanks for your help!
