Another piece from the mixed lot of studio pottery I bought recently. This lampbase looks pre 1960. It's in a mottled, textured, drip glaze, almost crystalline, incised with doves. Clear incised monogram to the base 'ML' or 'LM'. The fitment is 'Made in England' by 'Argo' so it's definitely British.
Height 20.5cm. If anyone knows the maker I would be very grateful.

Not necessarily. Wholesalers would often import the components from different countries. It could just as easily have had Czech or Polish light fitting.
I'm sure we've seen the ML mark before. May be French or Dutch.
