Veliko Tarnovo (Bulgaria) sgraffito pottery

This little bowl was made in the beautiful town of Veliko Tarnovo in a tiny little street-side workshop. I bought it during the 1980s when I was working near there one summer. I never met the potter but I understand that the sgraffito decoration he used was traditional to the town, with examples dating to the 12th century having been found in town excavations. I have a slide of the workshop which I will scan and post if I can dig it out.
