I do have one of his teabowls, which I am very pleased with, but have been disappointed in what I have seen of his work recently. A shame as I do want to acquire more.

On his site there is a new batch recently produced , they look pretty good to me , some earlier ones are way off the mark , but there are some really good ones too , when he gets it right he gets it right Happy

You're quite right Naomi - I don't normally do this (honest) but I did put it to my lips after photographing.

Getting the subject back to Charles .. I had the pleasure of spending some time with him... and think you either get it or not but I get it completely... he makes what he feels like without any commercial intent... which gives his work freedom and the lack of polished refinement... expected of other potters ...we purchased three pieces from him..and i just hope i have his strength and vigour at his age... ask your self at 74 would you be able to fill an anagama and fire it over a week... amazing !!!!!!
