The shape of the teapot and cups is Chinese. It may be modern Chinese or Korean, or by a studio pottery copying the Chinese shape. I'm assuming they're unmarked so probably the former.

The handle was a bit strange, it was made of multiple bits of twisted wood, but had become warped. Have you seen this anywhere before? Also the filter was protruding on the inside of the spout but was perfectly domed, with the holes in it.The overall quality appeared reasonably good.

Yes, the wooden handle and domed filter are typical of Chinese teapots - but also copied by other potters. You should be able to buy replacement handles.

If you google 'Canton teapot' and click images you'll see some late Quin - early 20th Century examples with the classic famille rose decoration, so it's quite an old/traditional Chinese shape.
