I think these are fairly recent, I have seen other creatures with the same form which apear to be quite modern, maybe Chinese Shrugs

The quality looks far superior to that which you'd expect from China - although I have seen some not-too-shabby Chinese battuto and inciso pieces in TK Maxx of late. Thankfully the bases were the usual rough-ground affairs... although a little strange considering the effort that these decorations take vs. the effort it takes to finish a base properly!

I wouldn't be surprised if the bird turned out to be some quite nice contemporary Murano touristware. The decoration a canne on the body is modelled loosely on Bianconi designs for Venini... but the design and manufacture isn't quite up to that kind of level.
