Andrew & Keith Crouch - The Marches Pottery

I’ve checked and there’s one on eBay with same mark and a paper label! Well done, that’s so helpful.

He does make some wonderful stuff. They are yunomis rather than bowls.
Someone said the other style of mark is his brother’s but it seems to be on the same pots so I think they’re both his.

Edited to say, the pottery was started by Keith Crouch, Andrew’s brother, in the early 80s. Andrew joined him and they continued potting together until Keith left in the 90s to become the parish priest. Now it’s just Andrew

I have seen a very nice tea set by him sold at a very well known provincial auction house in a specialist sale, as being by Geoffrey Whiting. If I recall correctly it went for more than you could have bought it from him new.

Edited to say it’s Keith Crouch’s mark. Difficult to photograph because of the glaze but it’s an A with an upsidedown v below it

This vase is quite a heavy lump,, it's 9 inches high by 7 inches across at it widest, the mark is hard to read but when I get it in certain light it looks like a capitol A on it's own no other marks,, can anyone identify the maker ??? P.S. cup is there for size comparison.

Thank you, I’ve had a cup by him before. I thought I knew the mark.

His brother Keith stated the pottery and then Andrew joined him. Andrew continued potting there after Keith left to become a vicar, so some have an ‘Av’ mark.

"Keith started the Marches Pottery in 1981 -82. Andrew joined him and they worked together until Keith returned to the Church as a Parish priest in the mid nineties. Keith was trained by Geoffrey Whiting who I think worked in Kent teaching students taking Orders."
