Re: spherical vase
Is it just my eyes or are your pictures seriously out of focus? Can we see a picture of the monogram Dan please. Caithness, if marked usually has the whole word Caithness etched on the bottom unless its a second and then its CIIG, also the bases don't tend to be polished flat.

Re: spherical vase
I think Caithness too. I have a little collection of five with examples of that colouring and shape-ish. Only one of them is marked Caithness underneath, and its almost invisible.
I just tried to take some pics but not good in artificial light. I'll do them tomorrow. When I say 'not good' I don't mean as bad as the above

Re: spherical vase
I'm sorry Dave I'm not exactly sure what that means
All the bases are smooth and shiny with maybe some slight dimples in the smooth shininess
Does that sound polished?

Re: spherical vase
Usually a base thats referred to as polished is dead flat and polished like this one on a vase of mine

Re: spherical vase
I really don't know? They look smoother, curvier and less 'cut-off' than that as far as I can tell?

Here are the pics, can't get a decent base shot

But I'm also thinking Mdina now - could the monogram say that?
