I think so - wasn't there a question about that on another Portuguese pottery thread?
btw, what's that Portuguese green majolica pottery called Subtile or something? Can't find it on google and I've got a frog somewhere with it stamped on the base, but that's gone missing too. This box might be by that company.

Re: SECLA (Portugal)
Sadly not as classy as other Secla pieces..so i'm guessing quite modern. Piggy box...but strangely/uniquely with handles on top

Antique mall find..
I found this very cool bowl yesterday. On the reverse, incised into a small unglazed area are the words "SECLA" and "PORTUGAL" I will try to upload the image but it's very hard to read. The bowl is "clam shell" shaped. When it sits on the table in tilts forward. Dimensions of the opening are about 25cm x 19 cm. I didn't see anything else like it on this website or looking around on Ebay, so I'm curious if anyone knows anything about it. I am actually going to Portugal in a few days so it was kind of a coincidence that I found it.
I know you can't see the inscription in the picture, but it is there.
Thanks so much.

Re: SECLA (Portugal)
Thanks! If you look at the white area in my picture you can almost make out the "SEC" in the top half. Wanted to point that out. I'll be going into a few museums in Lisbon and Porto in the next couple of weeks so will also ask around there.

Thanks Joel. I just arrived in Lisbon and by chance am staying down the hill from the shop Objectivo. It's quite lovely and I learned a lot about my piece and how fortunate I was to find it.I will keep my eyes open while traveling.
