Pressed Glass Novelty cap - Paden city glass Virginia
Not sure who to attribute this too Thought davidsons, someone suggested american (fenton?) just because of the prunt markings
It is moulded in four pieces with the prunts over three of them
Have seen this design in metal before but this is a first for me in glass (probably need to go to spec savers)
Dosnt fit in with he bits I have collected but it is a little on the quirky side and didnt cost too much
Should I have used thumbnails or is this format okay So used to photographic sites that fight for bigger and bigger images

Re: Pressed Glass Novelty cap - Paden city glass Virginia
The eagle looks to be clutching a hammer in the left talon. The American eagle on the Great Seal would be clutching an olive branch (and in the other a bunch of arrows).
Can't really add anything beyond that - pressed glass isn't really my thing.
I can see all of the images okay, but folk with smaller monitors (there are a few of them left, I'm told) might view only partial images.

Communist Hungary (I'm faintly remembering from a week in Budapest many years ago) had a crossed wheat and hammer crest - but I don't recall there being an eagle.
Austria had a hammer and sickle being clutched by an eagle...
So possibly the hammer at least indicates that corner of Europe?
Or I could be completely wrong!

And this is why I don't collect pressed glass - it's far too confusing!
But good research on your part.
