Find of the Day: Selig Z Chair

Post by bitofbutter on Sat Oct 16, 2010 10:06 pm

Hey Everyone,

Per Skay's request, I'm reposting a pic of today's find here! A Selig Z-Chair designed either by Poul Jensen or Ib Kofod-Larsen depending on who you ask. It's original medallion (round, w/ Danish flag and the words: Made in Denmark, imported by Selig) was removed when the previous owner decided to remove the original straps and screw in plywood instead.

The current plan is to get it refinished, as it has some pretty serious sun damage and reupholster the cushions in either an olive green or dark yellow wool/boucle. I'll post another pic when it's finished!

Go for olive green! It works so well with teak - and it's my favourite colour.

Shame about the petty vandalism done to the underside, though. Still, an absolute bargain and a great classic design.

Oh, the design of the chair is definitely by Poul Jensen - at least according to the original factory catalogue.

Nice chair - great find! I like olive green too but I'm also rather partial to burnt orange :) and they're original colours too.
