Loetz? Empty Loetz?

Post by lyndhurst44 October 10th 2010, 7:14 pm

Hi,
I purchased these three items in a West Country bootsale today. On seeing them I immediately thought Loetz but I had never seen this colourway before. The central black band is actually identical to the band on the Loetz Polowny vase gracing the cover of a Loetz publication Loetz Bohemian Glass 1880 - 1940 by Hadje Cantz. The colours on the stripes seem to be the same hue as the main colour of my acquired items.
Can anyone confirm please? ps. Do we have a crossed fingers Emotion?[img][/img]Loetz? P1010011

Thanks,
Bryn

no ideas but have you looked on Loetz.com and on Alfredo's site to check? he has a lot of tango pieces on there.

Hi,
Yes I will do. Thanks.
I have found a pair of candlesticks in green discribed as being designed by Powolny (correct spelling this time) these also have the same narrow dark band towards the top. Unfortunattly it's one of those sites that require you to register with them before you can find the asking price.
Thanks,
Bryn

well I would go on fleabay usa and look at completed items as they have far more Loetz (and lots marketed as Loetz but they aren't) than they do on the uk version. What someone wants for a piece and whether they actually sell it at that are two different things aren't they? Nice pieces though!

Good Idea M, I will try that.
I may sell the candlesticks, not really my thing. The bowl, however, is really really nice and I may well hang onto that. Find a prominent place in my bulging cabinet, methinks.
Thanks,
Bryn
