Stromberg ?

Post by Thesigeng on Sat Jul 31, 2010 3:46 pm

I have had this vase in a cupboard for some years but have never identified it.

It stands just over 8 inches high, is very heavy and thick walled glass which is mostly very clear. It is square/elliptical
3 by 4 inches at widest points. The rim is chamfered.

The base has no markings. Unfortunately it has some bloom to the inside.

I thought it may be Stromberg as it is similar to other Stromberg pieces.
Any ideas or help greatfully accepted.

Hard to say - a few of the smaller Swedish factories made very similar wares. I don't know if it's just the photo, but the green tint of the glass doesn't sit quite right with a Stromberg attribution.

Thanks Nic, The green tinge is possibly due to my blinds reflecting the flash light just behind the photo. The glass is very clear when seen in the flesh, so to speak.
As you say hard to say but always nice to have a second opinion. Thanks.
