chance glass ashtray?

This is marked on the bottom silver cuff with c bros ltd, is it chance glass?

It could be, Chance made more traditional pressed glass up untill 1953 when they switched production to the slumped and printed glass they became known for.

No, not Chance. The mark will be that of the metal basher. And if no other marks its likely EPNS or silver plate.
