70's German telephone.

70's German telephone.
I picked this up in Germany a while ago. Any idea's how I can rewire the plug?

Wow, that's great. Google would probably provide the answer.
It reminds me of when my Dad allowed me a Trimphone in my bedroom, I had to pay him 70p a month. I stuck pictures of Jack Wild all over it with double sided tape and remember when he found it (Dad, not Jack Wild) he made me remove it all with thinners before I was allowed out again

Do you have a maker and model number? I have converted older german phones but never anything this modern,

Hi there
Well it would appear it is made by Alcatel possibly. The plug is not the standard German type and would almost certainly date it to post 1970s maybe late 80's early to mid 90's
/the german telecome system is similar but not exactly like ours, if the wiring is correct then it should be wired thus:
White = Exchange Line B
Brown = Exchange Line A
Green = Bell Wire.
Yellow = Earth (not used in modern phone system.)

Sorry Andy you totally lost me there.I was told the plug was a VDo-Stecker 4-polig" (Anschluss-Stecker AS-4) not used after 1987
