Jersey Pottery (Channel Islands)
is there anyone here who is knowledgable about Jersey Pottery? picked this up today and wondered if it was an early piece as all the other jersey pottery pieces i've seen have been white with hand painted decoration, not this kind of heavier stonewearish which impressed patterns.

Re: Jersey Pottery (Channel Islands)
We see a lot of Jersey Pottery on our travels - some I like more than others and often quite varied in style. We don't buy it however because of our limited storage space situation. As for information, annoyingly none of my books have anything about them and the only info I can find online I'm sure you've already checked out (link below).
Hopefully now you've put the question out here in the public domain someone will drop in who knows more. I'd be interested to know as well.

i've never seen jersey pottery like this, but here it is. I'm guessing it's for a yacht club somewhere.
Re: Jersey Pottery (Channel Islands)
probably commissioned by the Yacht club in their choice of glaze colour

I've seen quite a few of these pieces on my travels and I think they are fab compared to the painted production. They made a sunflower wallplaque in this style and on a hessian backed board I believe, which is gorgeous (I didn't bid on it and regret it). I think this is early production, although have no info to back that up - sorry.

I know nothing about this vase except it is Jersey Pottery and about 15 cm high.

Re: Jersey Pottery (Channel Islands)
Bistoboy, I had a bowl similar to yours but with double bands of holes and shorter pedestal. I bought it in a box-lot of pots at auction about 10 years ago, and the person who had owned them seemed to buy souvenirs from his hols.; each piece had a label underneath, clearly to remind him/her where and when they were bought. Sadly, I can't remember what it said on the Jersey piece
Only joking
It was 'Jersey 1973' (or '74).

Iv'e seen this type of Jersey Pottery before - I think they are quite good and attractive and deserve recognition on a wider scale - they did all types of designs some slicker than others.
I only have one piece however - a vase with gold decoration - see below - more mundane than the pieces above
