Rectangular slip cast tray - Andre Loret
Hi,
I bought this tray in an antique centre a couple of months ago, because I liked the style and colours (reminded me of Eric Leapers orange). I have no idea what it would be used for. I guess just ornamental. It had a label on it for Andre Loret. I have done some extensive intrernet searching to find similar pieces by him without success, so I am now questioning whether or not it is actually his work.
Is it his work or somebody elses? A mystery to be solved.

Strange
Looks like it could hang on a wall but no hanging point?

There are no wall hanging points. I'm not even sure if tray is a good description.

We had a Omweso game board from Uganda - played with coffee beans but the places are scooped out not sticking up. I don't think it's a game. Nor is it an ashtray

Re: Rectangular slip cast tray - Andre Loret
It's quite a fragile slip casting, so I don't think it would survive as a gaming board, but an interesting suggestion all the same. Thanks

See that lip on the back - almost as if it sits in a frame or something. Could there be multiple panels
Re: Rectangular slip cast tray - Andre Loret
Yes it has a lip all the way around. It might be where the lid of the slip casting mould fitted onto the base of the mould.
