Spittoon shaped bowl. ‘Kitchen Qing (Ch’ing) porcelain’, 19thC-early 20thC domestic ware made for the Peranakan market in Malacca, Indonesia. Original owner’s mark inside the bowl for communal eating. In Peranakan it's called “Mangkuk Capeong” (bowl with a spread mouth like a dish). Decoration on older ones are a two tone blue. The darker blue on this points to a late 19thC date. Red wax export stamp.
