Doulton Vases Empty Doulton Vases

Post by Patsy Sat Sep 25, 2021 8:37 am

Hello,
I'm not sure if this is the kind of question for this site, forgive me if it's not, but I'm trying to find out if it's better to sell these Doulton vases as a pair or separately.
As you can see they are the same design, but there is a difference in height, approx 1.75cm
One is signed by Emily Partington and the other by Bessie Newbery.
Thanks for any advice.
Pat

If they were the same size then it might be better to sell them as a pair despite them being signed by different decorators. However, as they are not I would suspect they would fetch much less sold together. Having said that their value will have decreased dramatically over the years and would be just a fraction of what it would have been 40 years ago.

I always thought if they were a pair then the pattern should be a mirror image in the second one. Otherwise they’re just two Doulton vases with similar designs. Worth checking out if one decorator’s work is more sought after than the other.
If one is damaged then I’d sell them as a pair.
