Art Deco bronze lady with a dog (borzoi?)

the signature on this piece is much more difficult to make out

I bought the silver-ed bronzr in Italy but it could be from anywhere and is not a reproduction

does anybody recognise the work and / or signature?

any feedback appreciated

These days in the UK we don't see as much Art Nouveau/Art Deco metalwork, as we did when I first started dealing back in the 1980s. What we do see these days tends to be French in origin and in the past the bulk tended to include German pieces as well.

This figure doesn't really look like work that I have seen from those countries and to me that points to it coming from Italy or Austria/Hungary perhaps.

in Italy I do not think sellers hold these Art Deco items in high esteem for whatever reason

this piece could very well be Italian made

I will continue looking for clues, the signature is like hieroglyphics ;-l
