HEAVY CRYSTAL GOBLET Empty HEAVY CRYSTAL GOBLET

This glass is a bit puzzling. You wouldn't drink out of a glass with a sawtooth rim... But it's not the right shape for a compote or celery glass. It has a riven bowl on an octagonal stem with a 32 star-cut base. It's well made, has quality and some age I think. H: 5 7/8", Bowl dia: 3 7/8", foot dia: 3 7/8". Anyone hazard a guess as to purpose and possible age?
