Unusual item, can anyone help

Good evening. Ive had this for ages and picked it up at a car boot sale for £4 after the customary haggling. It was with a bunch of brasss bits and pieces. Its so beautiful, I feel it should be something special, but probably isnt at all!!!! The metal has a mark to the base and its highly ornate inside. Can any help please, to identify metal type and what its for (im assuming a burner of some kind)and is this a modern otem or something with a big of age. Also what is the coloured bit please. Thank you.

It looks like a Chinese Cloisonné item. The metal looks like possibly silver in the photos, sometimes it is brass. Items made of silver are the more important ones (naturally!). Google Cloisonné images and see if there's anything patterned like your piece.

Looks Asian. Possibly Chinese for the Indian market or Tibetan
