MIDDLE EASTERN? HEBREW? BIBLICAL HAND PAINTED STORY BOARD

Wondered if anyone could confirm the country of origin and the language used here (Hebrew?) It's quite a large storyboard depicting a Bible story or similar and contains 44 individual hand painted images with captions. Any help would be gratefully received. Thanks

It's a possibility... Now looking at the Amharic alphabet, seems to be a definite similarity. Difficult to pin down with the captions being handwritten. Trying to work out what story is being portrayed. Thanks
