New Hall, Keeling and Factory X, c.1780-1820

Porcelain from the late 18th - early 19th Century, from the factories of New Hall, Keeling and Factory X (so called because itís unknown which company made it as the pieces were only signed with an X, although some now believe it was Keeling).

I thought Iíd group these together on one thread for now, since they were contemporaries and copied each otherís designs, although New Hall had the finer painting technique, with lovely dots, lines and bows.

Somewhere, I have a lot of photos of New Hall pieces, but Iíll kick it off with a tea bowl and saucer by Keeling, pattern X110

How far do we go in '20 th century forum'? There is a gigantic amount of 18th and 19th century pottery that would truly swamp the site. Where do we begin and end?

Yeah, we used to be quite strict about Ďnot 20th Centuryí but I guess it doesnít matter that much, especially as itís Naomi.

Letís see how it goes.
