Maybe a pic of the base and inside might help. How tall is it?

Could be some sort of storage jar missing a lid?

Seems to say "Hand Made, Rowe Pottery Works, Cambridge w15"
Wonder if its from the commonwealth or USA, there are Cambridges
in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Jamaica, and USA/
