The impressed mumbers refer to the month and year of manufacture.
It looks like 6/83 which would be for June 1883.
The pottery was only in operation as G&W from 1881-85.

An aesthetic movement design plate in the "Melbourne" pattern.
Rd No. for 1881. Also impressed "Gildea and Walker" and "Ivory".
