Pottery Tiger Signed Maidman

Glazed pottery tiger approx. 30 cm (L) x 19 cm (H) x 9 cm (W).

It is signed I think it is Laidman, or Maidman not 100%  

It said 1920s but may well be modern underside isn't glazed and is rough








just wanting to find out a bit more about it and also when it was made

Both Laidman and Maidman are surnames, although both not common. Looking at the base it appears to me as if this might have been made from Plaster of Paris rather than clay but without seeing it in real life I can't be sure.

If so, then you will be looking for a sculptor rather than a ceramic artist. I did find some artists with those surnames by doing a quick google search but none that seemed to match. A more extensive search might bear fruit.

Looks likely to be 1920s/30s from the images.

If it's plaster then it might be a craft kit piece.
