Older Japanese studio pot

Post by alexlenehan on December 10th 2015, 1:00 pm

Ok, here's an interesting one for you. Sold as an art nouveau style piece but I suspect a little later and Japanese, (from the seal mark.) I think the style takes some influence from early moulded sancai wares so it may be Chinese too.

I, as always, appreciate any thoughts.

Think it could be an Asian pottery working in the US, but no idea at all sorry, I do like it though! Most Excellent

Interesting piece. Looks like its inspired by Persian metalwork. Might be a modern studio piece but no idea of the potter, sorry.
