Sugar bowl - Demartial & Tallandier of Limoges
Hand painted lidded sugar bowl. 19thC?
D&T over L - anyone recognise the mark? Maybe one of the smaller Dresden potteries?

It's a beautiful thing, Brin. I think you've simply got an eye for beauty.

The decorators, Demartial & Tallandier, are not mentioned in the Dictionary of European Porcelain by Danckert (the bible of European porcelain) but I see that Christies have used the name so would assume that they have checked it out.

But Limoges used such thin gold decoration, that alone could have identified it!

No, Limoges is good quality, but most of what we see over here is not.
So disappointed when I went to the Limoges museum, some stunning enamel
work, but to be told by a curator that all the good stuff was held by the
potteries themselves, and not available to the public, I gave up.
