For the reason of the style of clothing I'm thinking 70's, the painting is bold and well executed (in my opinion)
Any ideas would be gratefully received.

Yes, it looks like a 1970s piece.
The proportions are all wrong - the arms in particular - so I suspect it's by a member of the family or self portrait.

I agree Naomi on the proportions , I find it strange but appealing. The self portrait idea also makes a lot of sense to me due to the abstract background. Thanks
