A Rather Handsome Bowl

Loving the texture on this piece.  It is marked on the base but I can't see it properly.  Wondering if anyone out there recognises?

Very interesting glaze. Is it just the angle or glaze or is the rim irregular ? I'm wondering if it's a glaze test plate. The mark on the base looks like an artefact of the glaze.

It is over-fired, which has caused the glaze to crack but that could have been intentional.

The unglazed area left in the centre of the foot ring would suggest that there might be a mark there. Could it be Japanese?

I wondered Japanese too, but just couldn't see it. Wondered if it was a map or an object, but couldn't make that work either. Looks to be the same pattern as the glaze but without the colour, so I'm going with glaze. May be the result of a sticky thumbprint, and the wonky edge the result of sticky fingerprints
