It's tall, black, stoneware and marked MB
Apologies if I posted this before but if I did then regard this as a "bump" as I haven't had a positive ID. Naomi's arrow head pot just brought this back to mind, as I bought it at a Boot Fair years ago, couldn't identify it but kept it anyway.
It's 46 cm (25 inches) tall so base and top images to follow.

I'm always wary when I see a base like that as it points to a student piece. However it does have a nice stamped monogram, so maybe a weekend potter.

That is exactly what comes to my mind when I see that type of marking on the bottom but I think that it is by a pro. The height, the fact that it has been made in 2 pieces and joined where the "side handle" is and that there has been no attempt to do anything about smoothing around the foot suggests to me a professional.
One piece of information that I didn't mention is that the couple I bought it off said that they had bought it from a ceramics gallery in Greenwich during the early 1980s. The gallery referred to would have been Gallery Seven (or another number around 7), which was run by seven local professional potters but none with those initials. They showed there own work but did stage exhibitions of other potters work and, although I was around Greenwich at the time, it was before I became interested in studio pottery.
