Roseville Pauleo Vase Empty Roseville Pauleo Vase

Post by lorrgeno June 11th 2013, 6:20 pm

I found this beautiful piece at a thrift last week and have looked and searched and asked all over the internet try to put an age, ID the maker or at least a country from which it came.
It's  large 13" vase  and fairly thick and heavy at over 2.5 lbs with a subtle matte glaze and  soft pattern.
It had some worn felt on the bottom and when I removed it there was only marked scratched in  #113. The bottom isn't cracked, its just some glaze chipping off.
I hope someone can help

Thank you

personally, and only IMHO, the numbering doesn't looking continental European to me.  The '1" on most continental numbering tends to be serif,  and the '3' isn't usually a rounded one, but has a straight top.  As you are in the USA, i'd be more tempted to say American arts & crafts.  But as i said, just my opinion. Shrugs  i'd suggest looking at a site like Treadway gallery for arts&crafts pottery
