I dont usually touch Glass Biscuit Barrels but this one stood out with the unusual design and great condition. 23cm tall with lid, 3 feet and no reg number etc. Would be a great help if companies marked their wares. It weighs 1.3kg so a good weighty piece. I have checked my links but not found anything.Glass Biscuit Barrel SDC11929

i may be completely and utterly wrong with this idea - as i'm not a glass collector - but the design looks like comets, so may suggest a 50s/60s period, with a late deco inspired aesthetic.

i see on the walker art gallery website,a comet patterned vase by whitefriars which they say was typical of 20s/30s design, so i guess i'm prob wrong with the date

I can see the comet link bistoboy. Never thought of it. Space race era is 50's 60's. I would put this as late 30's maybe, earlier would be nice but it does have the art deco look. Still not found anything on hundreds of pages I have veiwed Shocked still no match
