Mystery collection character mugs and more

I've been slowly amassing this collection from an unknown potter and I'd love to know who he is! In my opinion he has a very refined sense of design (and humor) and balances forms, decorative elements, and glazes with significant skill. Since taking these picts, I have found a New York Times newspaper holder(?!) shaped like a building overflowing with these sparse ad comical little characters -- whomever he is he sure isn't a one-trick-pony! All pieces feature the same mark. As far as time period I have nothing too significant to go upon, but would guess 60s or 70s. Any ideas or comments welcome!

Seen the same mark on pieces owned by a collector in the US. Potter is still unknown but may be based in Florida.
