I wonder if anyone can help me identify this bowl/ashtray as I am a complete novice. From my investigations I think it might be a Murano ashtray. It measures 18cm by 15.5cm across the top and is approx 7cm high. The colours are a very vibrant cherry red encasing a lovely amber/gold colour. The condition is not the best with a few chips and scratches to one side of the rim but it is still very lovely to look at. It has pride of place on my room divider. I would very much appreciate any information about this piece and any tips on what books to invest in to find out more about this kind of glass. Thank you so much.

Definitely Murano... but almost certainly touristware, and will be pretty much impossible to attribute to a maker.
