Can anyone help to identify/date this glass bowl in metal basket
Hi All. Can anyone help me identify/date this glass bowl in a metal basket. Found in the North-West of England no marks or numbers so not really much to go on. The bowl itself measures 28 cms (L) x 20 cms (W) x 10 cms (D) and is heavy - 1.2 kgs. Frosted glass on the outside and smooth on the inside. The metal basket is 23 cms high and looks as if it's made from gilt metal of some kind. My guess is 1950's but I could be completely wrong. If anyone recognises it and could give a date and even better a manufacturer it would be much appreciated. Quite a few images below to hopefully help. Thanks

I've had a few German items from c.1890-1910 that have had this style of metalwork - although the glass looks later than this. Not that I know anything about pressed glass.
But Germany might be a place to start?

The metalwork is almost certainly English but I don't recognise the glass

No. Though their stuff often appears in these metal mounts, which were applied either by the metal manufacturer or the wholesaler
