HELP & QUESTIONS Vintage Herman Miller Eames RAR rocker
Here is one of my tresures from today out picking. A Vintage Herman Miller Eames RAR rocker. It's a little out of my scope of expertise. My questions are --- Is this a Zenith rocker? , what would be the approx. production year of this rocker? Is this the rarer color that they call Lemon - even though the interior of the shell is darker due to age & use - the underside is a lighter yellow color. Is It Right? I believe it is in very good & original condition other than the darker shell interior color & 1 bolt that has a defferent head - rockers seem right - frame is good - pads shocks etc. - If not please let me know it looks pretty original to me. But like i said - I need everyone's help on this - just beyond my knowledge of modern. Many Thanks in advance for your time & efforts. Below are the pictures of the rocker. Thanks Again. rbjr

Re: HELP & QUESTIONS Vintage Herman Miller Eames RAR rocker
your chair looks fine to me ,these chairs are currently reedited by Vitra so a lot of people buy the new rocker bit and put it on an old shell too create a valuable old rocker chair your rocker seems to have some wear so probably old unless someone has artificially aged it
Re: HELP & QUESTIONS Vintage Herman Miller Eames RAR rocker
I know this is a very old post, but just for info purposes that chair is either Grieg or parchment colored, unless the lightening is way off its not lemon. The lemon color is quite bright and sunny pastel, yours looks to be a more naturalistic color. It is not a Zeneith rope edge, which are the first production run. The sticker on the Zenieths are the red, white, black check board stamp. The screw pattern, bolts and other details all look good.
I can't read the sticker on yours, but have never seen one like it but the glare makes it impossible for me to read.
Most Herman miller shell chairs will have a S in a circle, or a half moon shape or other symbols impressed in the fiberglass that lets you know where it was produced.
I'm only familiar with American production, not Vitra european production. I own quite a few eames shell and side chairs, including an original rope edge RAR, so if any one else here ever has any questions about Herman Miller furniture or their eames shell chairs, LCWs or DCWs I could probably help out.
