Yes. This is a painting by Xavier Cugat. Cugat is best known as a musician but was also a cartoonist for the LA Times and an artist. I happen to have the identical painting. I bought it at an estate sale auction for $400. These are usually serigraphs and not actual paintings. I have purchased more than 30 Cugat paintings and have paid between $50 and $1,200 depending on the quality of the piece and how rare each is. Many of them seem to have been produced in greater quantity than others. Some are on canvas, others are on artists board, some are painted by hand and others appear to have been produced using a silkscreen and have very little shading or handwork. All of this may impact the price. I have many images of X. Cugat artwork on a facebook page I created. Once you are in Facebook just search for Xavier Cugat artwork. Thanks Craig for the information on my X. Cugat, I also bought mine at an Estate Sale paid $225. How do you tell if it is a Serigraph? Silkscreen? It is on Canvas, very large. I will check out the page on facebook
