i'm not sure it's as early as 1950s/60s, but if it is, it's a great find. love it. maybe even a john piper design?

you could try looking at the inside seams (if it has a zip closing) and see if there is a printed name - especially if the fabric has been cut close to the selvedge.

Unfortunately it has been stitched closed (no zip), I'll check-out some John Piper designs and compare. Feels like someone has filled it with scraps of sponge (bit lumpy?)

It most DEFINITELY looks 1950s production to me although I don't recognise the pattern - I know a textile specialist however and I'm certain he'll know. I'll email him - may I have your permission to lift your photo and email it to him?

Hi there, love the cushion, fabulous fabric - what a great find!
I do recognise the design - it was produced by the Lancashire textile firm David Whitehead Ltd. in probably the late 1950s. A photo and comment on the fabric appears in a couple of books I have - one being 'David Whitehead Ltd. Artist Designed Textiles 1952 - 1969' by Alan Peat' and the other being '1950s Fashion Print' by Marnie Fogg. It's thought that the design was inspired by American abstract expressionism and was created by one of the internal team of the firm as no artist's name appeared on the selvedge. Hope this info is helpful to you.
