i've seen this for sale in a local auctioneers catalogue, listed as Whitefriars. Do you all agree?

Re: coming up for auction
no, def no tongue in cheek - i don't have a clue about glass stuff, so it was a genuine question. I contacted the auction house about the attribution in the catalogue and they responded by saying that the online catalogue was for a sale that had already passed. So, that means that some poor person has bought what they think is Whitefriars.
Re: coming up for auction
Oops sorry, should've told you sooner sorry.
I couldn't ID it specifically but knew if wasn't whitefriars.

I placed a very hopeful bid of £250 on this picture (which had no reserve). I knew it had been incorrectly catalogued and was actually signed "K. Schwitters" (Kurt Schwitters) so wasn't at all disappointed that i didn't bid more when it sold for £28K . Obviously the bidders were more on the ball than this auction house. Makes you wonder what other gems go under the radar at provincial auction houses. But i did wonder how even a small auction house could make SUCH a blunder on a well known name like Schwitters. If i were the vendor, how pissed off would i be when i found out the reason why it had sold for thousands, but could've sold for more if it had been catalogued correctly?

Re: coming up for auction
Auction houses are nuts.
We currently have one if those glass vases in the shop. Manager put £20 on it several months ago. Still unsold. Dying to put a half price sticker on it.

I have one. Frantisek Vizner for Hermanova Hut pattern 20082. Maze design. Cost £3 from a charity shop. Theys big and chunky things. I like it but I doubt I would be tempted to part with more than a tenner for one.
