OH hates this piece, so I can see us parting with it at some point, but I just love the mad design on it. It relates to the Battle of Sedgemoor somehow, but not sure exactly how (haven't investigated further).
It's a large piece, 14 1/2 inches in diameter.

I seem to have bought a lot of unidentified pottery this week and am as always looking for help.
This piece is a green handpainted pot with rabbits and flowers. Marked underneath with an impressed dragonfly. Does this ring any bells?

Dragonfly decorated, slipware bowl, with Pettinger's impressed dragonfly back stamp.

Hoping someone can help with this marbled vase please, faint impressed dragonfly mark and SOMERSET. The dragonfly reminded me of Martin Pettinger's mark from Williton Pottery. Although he works in Somerset I have never seen that on his work and I have never seen any of his pieces like this before. I seem to be talking myself out of him as a possibility!!!!! All suggestions much appreciated, John

Agreed. Martin Pettinger. I have one of his bowls which has two dragonflies stamped on the base. His speciality is colourful slipware such as this.

Thanks, my doubt came from not having seen the word SOMERSET on his work before.
Naomi, I wonder if if gets carried away with the stamping if yours has 2 dragonflies as this one has 3 SOMERSET!!
