Re: Leonard Stockley (Weymouth)
Yes, the horses/knights would be on the white side

So, if we're assuming these are all part of a chess set, which piece is this one?

Re: Leonard Stockley (Weymouth)
well that's the chess theory disproved

A black Castle/Rook, maybe - especially with that ruff

The little king on the far right could be a Pawn

Re: Leonard Stockley (Weymouth)
Yes that link would be a WHITE King and Queen
I'm not saying everything he sold was part of a chess set or the same set, just that in the distant past it might have been part of the idea. Obviously there seems to be a lot more kings and queens about but that only natural. People only buy one or two and they are the most popular.

Re: Leonard Stockley (Weymouth)
As I see it, we have found the King, Queen, Bishop, Knights, Rook and Pawn.

Re: Leonard Stockley (Weymouth)
The decoration is a Dragon/Viking longboat with shields impressed. The dragon has a blue eye and it's tongue out/mouth open.

Do you or anyone else know anything about Leonard?

Re: Leonard Stockley (Weymouth)
Leonard Stockley is new to me. I bought it because I have a thing about jugs! I just seem to collect them. I have no idea how old it is, possibly 70s. I'm not even sure where it was made. Any info will be gratefully received.
