Frosted Blue Wavy Stacked Glass Bowl - Signed
Hello! I bought this bowl at an estate sale where there were a number of high end items and would love to know who the artist is. The base is acid etched with a signature and the numbers 95, which may be a date or a design number. I've tried many variations on the signed name and the only thing I can up with is Tortu, but I'm not at all certain that that's what it reads. The bowl measures about about 8" in diameter and weighs about 3.5 lbs. Any help is most appreciated! Thank you, Annenan

I can't read the word at the top but underneath it deffo says '95' - as you say, that could be the date or it could be a design/pattern number. Either way I don't recognise your bowl I'm afraid.

I squinted my eyes and thought I saw Toni Lee, but google didn't seem to have anything relevant

Thank you both, Pip and skay. It really is a beautiful piece and I'm cross-eyed from researching every variation of what that name could spell! Appreciate the fresh look!

Rubbing chalk dust or talcum powder into the signature might make it a little clearer - several unfathomable signatures have been revealed to me using this method in the past.

yes Nic's right - cigarette ash is good too.

Thanks, Carolyn: I think that's a slash mark over what would be the "L", though. Do you see it - it's the same as the one over the first T? Appreciate all the input - I tried the powder but it didn't work, surface too rough. Thanks!

I see the mark, but to my mind, it looks more like the glass, rather than the signature, 'cuz it would appear to be a different texture (for lack of a better word) than the L.
