My first thought was, "I wonder if it is an old piece of work by Philip Evans?"
Philip and his wife run the Roundhouse Gallery in Derbyshire and I must have known Philip for around 25 years. At some point along the way he must have told me that he produced ceramics himself and these days he has his own website.
What he makes has changed considerably over the years so it might be worth making contact if only to rule him out.
As an aside you could ask him about his mark(s) used, Naomi.
