Bernard Leach Homage Vase - Donn Hedman Empty Bernard Leach Homage Vase - Donn Hedman

Hello,

This vase is inscribed "Leach Bottle [illegible] Homage" and it bears a loose resemblance to the 'Leaping Salmon' vase.  Does anyone recognize the impressed marks?  Looks to be an 'H' and maybe an 'rp' or 'np'.  Thank You!

One of the original Bernard Leach Leaping Salmon vase in the Milner White collection at the York City gallery. I can remember standing in front of that vase when I took that photo for a good 10 minutes. It is truly something to behold.
           A number of American potters worked at the Leach Pottery in St Ives. Warren Mackenzie just being one of them. Oh and of course, Janet Leach his wife!  Bernard Leach was a very influential and popular figure in potting circles in the USA in the post war years. He made several lecture tours of the USA over the years.
