One of the original Bernard Leach Leaping Salmon vase in the Milner White collection at the York City gallery. I can remember standing in front of that vase when I took that photo for a good 10 minutes. It is truly something to behold.
A number of American potters worked at the Leach Pottery in St Ives. Warren Mackenzie just being one of them. Oh and of course, Janet Leach his wife! Bernard Leach was a very influential and popular figure in potting circles in the USA in the post war years. He made several lecture tours of the USA over the years.
