Re: Chelsea Pottery plate? PR mark
This was purchased at the same time as my interesting chelsea collection. Its massive by comparison. Same terracotta type. At first I thought it was Venice and probably unrelated but now bot sure of it could be Westminster. Could it be chelsea? Sorry no photo of rear but plain terracotta and if I remember rightly JB or JR on reverse (I can find out). Some repaired damage too.

I had no idea Chelsea decoration could be at that level. Much higher quality than anything I have seen before.

Wow
I’m not seeing Big Ben. Could it be the Tower of London?

Re: Chelsea Pottery plate? PR mark
Because it doesn't have any of the usual Chelsea marks, and the clay is different, I'll split the plate off into a separate thread and move to the ID My Pottery section

Re: Chelsea Pottery plate? PR mark
The clay above looks lighter than in reality. Normal red really

Re: Chelsea Pottery plate? PR mark
Chelsea used earthenware. Which is a much redder clay than this one, because of the iron content in the clay. It looks like a city scape. But it does not look much like a London skyline from the Thames. A European city? Paris?

Re: Chelsea Pottery plate? PR mark
There are several Chelsea pieces with pale clay on the main thread, but no-one with the initials PR so far. I don't think we can say for certain it was made at Chelsea Pottery, and the view may not be London, but the potter might have trained there
