Sidney Tustin Small Bowl, Winchcombe Pottery

Picked up this nice little Sidney Tustin bowl from the Winchcombe pottery. Looks like an early piece with W near to the loop in P and going by the distorts on the base, pops in the glaze and and rim edges looks like the time when they had issues with the kilns. Date: 1946, 50's maybe?

They stopped using Earthenware circa 1964.I am finding it difficult to se an ST there.

Popped another photo on with mark shaded, looks like his mark.

The main time they had issues with the kiln was 1951-53. They often had losses of up to 50%. They only really discovered the answer when they used an electric kiln in 1953. There was a problem of sulphates in the local clay which caused it. So it might well be from the early 50's.
