Any info on amphora/vase stamped Germany?
Hi All!
Thank you so much for this forum! I live in Miami, Florida and love to thrift here and have collected pottery from the thrift throughout the years. Most of my finds have been easy to ID, however this most recent find (for me) is difficult. I'm hoping someone will look at this and have more info than I do!
It's an amphora vase stamped "Germany" on the bottom along with the additions markings of what looks to be either "g+4" or "9t4" or any combination thereof. Please note you see a "C" on the bottom. That is sharpie from the thrift store.
I used google lens and this match came up: https://www.ebay.com/itm/164198284033
It's a match for size, color, glaze, etc. However the seller says it's Japanese Awaji pottery from the 1920's. (the ebay item is not stamped)
Any ideas of time or info more than just Germany would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

I suspect it is Pre 1939. After WW 2 Germany was in two separate states. East and West Germany, from 1949-1990. During that period any pottery produced in either of these separate States would very rarely have included the Word GERMANY on its own. So it might well be 1920's.

Thanks, Philpot. I was wondering how old an item needed to be to just get "Germany". I know about East and West Germany and especially West German pottery is good. I just didn't imagine that it could be THAT old.
I do love it. The colors and glazing is gorgeous and it looks great on my coffee table with some branches in it. I'm happy to give it a home. Not bad for $8!
If anyone else has info or ideas on the markings, it would be great. Thanks all!
