I wish I knew. It’s beautiful. Looks early 20thC so 1914 is probably the date

What an absolutely gorgeous piece! It is not strictly a charger though. Chargers tend to be much larger. 37 to 43 cms or in that area. My guess would be Italian or maybe Spanish.

Hi, Examples of your 'flambe' plate have been seen in the past, a piece with a different design but with the same marks sold at Tooveys auctions in 2018 lot 4105 and fetched £50, this plate was described as probably continental.

Thanks for that, a little bit more information but no clear attribution, more research required.

Hi, I thought the mark looked a bit familiar so i did a little searching through my old notes on 19th century art pottery manufacturers and came across the mark on your plate , it appears to belong to the 'Ashby Potters Guild'.

Ashby Potters Guild, 1909-1922, Woodville (Derbyshire).
The two books I have, only mention the oval "Ashby Guild" impressed mark,
not a painted one, probably why there has been some difficulty in identification.
MAH is probably the monogram of Maurice Hall.
